Angry Protestors At Charlottesville Want The ‘Lewis & Clark’ Statue To Be Removed


So apparently the Charlottesville City Council is looking for votes on removing the statue which commemorates Lewis and Clark because of the position of it.

Well, if you look at the statue you’ll see the problem there. It is the positioning of the Native American tracker Sacagawea.

In Virginia City, a lot of people proposed this decision this Thursday. Protestors locally proposed and stated that the statue is basically quite offensive. Although it was placed in 1919. And is there in the same place ever since with no prior offended people suggesting to take it down?

The people are defending the monument and requesting not to take it down. They say that since she was a tracker, Sacagawea obviously did crouch down on her arms and knees to look for trails. And ways as well as identifying plants and berries.

Since she spent most of her time distinguishing plants and berries on the ground whether which one is edible. And which is poisonous or if she can use for medicine, so the statue is basically quite realistic.

Seeing mixed opinions of the people of Charlottesville. US Congressman Bob Barr writes on his Twitter: ‘The people who rule the City of Charlottesville are fools for real. They intend to remove the statue of Lewis and Clark, why? Because they see a crouching Sacagawea figure as subservient while she’s just doing so because she’s a tracker and leading the explorers.’
