A young baby tragically passed away while vacationing with her family at a five-star hotel in Turkey.
Michael and Elizabeth Coffey from London, UK, were unwinding at the Land of Legends Kingdom Hotel along with their daughter, Elizabeth, and thirty other family members when their 6-month-old child began struggling to breathe suddenly.
According to the reports, the young girl was immediately tended to by the hotel’s medical team. She was also rushed to the hospital where she was sadly pronounced dead.
While the investigation into her death remains ongoing, it is believed that the infant died choking on “food or something similar.”
“Hotel staff called paramedics when the baby was having trouble breathing. She was brought to the hospital by the first responders. Despite the doctors’ efforts, she couldn’t be saved,” a rep for the Aspendos Anatolia hospital confirmed in a statement.
“The doctor who treated her said food or something similar had got lodged in the baby’s throat and she couldn’t breathe.”
Little Elizabeth’s body has since been scheduled for an autopsy to provide clear answers to her grieving family.
Meanwhile, the girl’s loved ones paid the six-month-old a series of touching tributes in which they remembered the child as “harmless” and “too good for this cruel world.”
“Can’t believe this rest in peace baby girl. Please god comfort her mummy and daddy. Feel so heartbroken for them,” one person wrote.
“RIP little princess Elizabeth. Definitely too good for this evil world, most harmless child in [the world]. Please keep Uncle Jimmy’s Michael and Elizabeth and family in prayers,” another expressed.
