A 48-year-old woman was found dead in her backyard after being mauled to death by her two dogs.
Tiffany L. Frangione’s dogs got into a fight with a neighbor’s dogs but when she tried to stop them, her pets turned against her, investigators said.
While police are awaiting autopsy results to confirm the cause of death, a medical examiner said that her death was accidental and listed ‘blunt force trauma of the neck with penetrating injuries and mechanical asphyxia’ as the cause, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Frangione is believed to have been brutally attacked by her own dogs, a 3-year-old Cane Corsi mix named Rachirius Maximus and a 3-year-old Alaskan husky mix named Masha.
According to reports, she has owned both of them since they were puppies.
BARC Animal Shelter confirmed to KHOU11 that the dogs were involved in the deadly attack, adding they were turned over by Frangione’s husband and were set to be put down on Monday.
Frangione shared many photos of her dogs on social media and even created accounts on Instagram for both pooches.
In a 2019 post, she said that she was ‘truly blessed’ after Masha and Rachirius Maximus had puppies together.
In 2018, Frangione said that the Cane Corsi mix was born in Dubai and was previously a guard dog. “I came to the United States with my two brothers all the way from Dubai,” she wrote.
“I was brought to silently guard a sheiks compound but found myself conflicted between the job I was hired to do and my kind and loving nature.”
“I chose to leave my past of high profile bodyguard duties and start my life loving and protecting my new masters,” she added.
