A London-based police officer has been awarded a jail sentence for life in regards to the torturing and killing of Sarah Everard.
The heartbreaking case that has been in the limelight for quite some time has finally received closure with the verdict, explained critics who have been following the case for a while.
The officer’s jail sentence resulted in the family of Sarah Everard weeping with joy which many people claim to be a huge breakthrough in terms of justice being served.
Meanwhile, the judge for the case slammed the grotesque killer cop for his inexcusable actions, adding how he would die in prison for carrying out such an unbelievingly horrifying crime.
This includes the rape, kidnap, as well as murder of Sarah, confirmed reports.
Just recently, Sarah’s family released a very heartbreaking message where she spoke about how grief-stricken the family was on Sarah’s death and the circumstances that surround it.
“No matter what, nothing you do can bring Sarah back now. But knowing that this man will be imprisoned for life will surely bring major relief,” she explained. Therefore, the family stood in silence, weeping, as they saw the cop listen to the verdict of the trial with shame and his head bowed down.
The family also spoke about how Sarah lost her life in the most painful and cruel ways and it’s all because of former officer Wayne Couzen. They went on to speak about how many expect police officers to be men of honor that safeguard the rights of others. But in this case, this was not true. In fact, it was the complete opposite.
“It’s been seven months since our Sarah died and the pain of her loss is just too overwhelming to put into words,” they went on to explain. “She was beautiful and we will miss her forever,” they concluded in their statement.
