92-year-old Elsie was left in shock after finding out that the body of her 98-year-old husband, World War 2 veteran David Saunders, was displayed during a live autopsy on a pay-per-view basis.

According to the reports, the controversial $500-per-ticket event took place in the Portland Marriott hotel where the live autopsy carried out by ‘Death Science’ was shown as part of the group’s ‘Oddities and Curiosities’ show.

Now, however, the grieving widow is outraged by the fact that the live autopsy, which was open to the public, was carried out on a pay-per-view basis for entertainment purposes and that her husband was treated “like a piece of meat.”

Following the event, DailyMail.com revealed how attorney Neama Rahmani confirmed that Elsie could file a strong case against Death Science, the organizer of the live autopsy, and Med Ed Labs, the for-profit company she donated her husband’s remains to.

“It all comes down to consent. If Saunders’ widow consented to the pay-per-view autopsy, she has no claim,” the lawyer said.

“But assuming she did not and was told the body would be used for medical research, she has both breach of contract claims against Med Ed Labs and tort claims against both Med Ed Labs and Death Science.”

Rahmani went on to say it is crucial to determine what was agreed between Elsie and the other parties in order to establish whether the agreement was breached or not.

“Once liability is established, the question is what are appropriate damages?” the lawyer added.

“The emotional distress of seeing a loved cut open in public is extreme, and would likely support a significant damage award, not to mention the disgorgement of ill-gotten profits from the event.”
