A mother recently killed her 6-year-old son with an intentional drug overdose so she could claim her insurance payout, confirmed reports.
25-year-old Ashley Marks reportedly created a blend or cocktail of drugs comprising of cocaine with methamphetamine, with several over-the-counter drugs, confirmed the courts.
The mum from Texas claims she wished to collect her $100,000 life insurance payouts and hence got ‘greedy’ to take the easy way out which for her was the death of her son.
The 25-year-old was recently charged with capital murder, while being held in jail without a bond attached to her name, confirmed reports.
During the time of her little son Jason’s death, reports confirmed how the boy lived with his 4-year-old sister in their grandfather’s home. Moreover, they were both under their grandparents’ care after they both suffered from Tuberculosis. The mother used to just come and go, giving their medications.
Jason’s sister reportedly refused to take in the medicine from her mum, confirmed Child Protective Services.
The grandad tried his level best to repeatedly contact the mum over two days but she just failed to answer her phone. He wanted to inform her that her little son was very ill, showing dangerous symptoms that needed immediate attention. This includes hallucination, constant vomiting, and failure to fall asleep too.
Despite all of these alarming signs, neither the mum nor the grandfather took the child to the hospital for help. And slowly but surely, his condition began to worsen with time.
The court documents went on to reveal how the child started to hallucinate really badly that he was scared of himself, thinking there were bugs all over his clothing. And when the mother was finally informed, she ordered the child’s grandad to give more medication, which he blatantly refused to do.
But right before his death, the mum came over and gave him an extra dose which ultimately led to his tragic death. Despite calls made to 911, the officers claim that he was dead way before they arrived.
While the mum is in jail, young Jason’s sister is living with her father, confirmed reports.
