In Russia, a mom has been charged with the attempted murder of her two-year-old son after she cut him open with a knife.
Kristina Litvina, 25, from Yekaterinburg, Russia has been arrested for the terrifying “operation” after she begged neighbors to call two-year-old son, Lev, an ambulance.
Kristina has cut her son’s body open in a bloody attempt to “cast out his demons”.
Lev suffered cuts to his abdomen and arms and was covered in blood when neighbors found him.
The 2-year-old survived the attack from his mother due to neighbors calling an ambulance as soon as they realized what Litvina had done.
A resident in the central city of Yekaterinburg, says he saw Lev’s horrendous condition as blood spilled over his body from wounds.
“I’ve seen a lot in my life, but never like this,” the neighbor said told local news reporters. “They clearly were not prepared for this.”
Doctors “turned pale” at the horrific condition of the toddler which Litvina claims that the DIY demonic surgery on August 12, had to be done.
Police describe finding the toddler in horrific condition. First responders said that Litvina did not help in trying to save her son but also did not appear upset or distressed in the slightest.
As the ambulance team saved her boy’s life with first aid, the mother “sat quietly in her chair, with zero reaction”.
“Why don’t you understand?” the mother allegedly told the police. “It was necessary to cast out his demons.”
Upon arrest Litvina confessed to the crime immediately, repeating her statement that she was trying to remove demons from her son’s body.
Russian Investigative Committee said that the mother was arrested at her apartment and is charged with the attempted murder of a minor. They added that the mom has demonstrated to officers how she wanted to remove the “demons”.
“The punishment for this particularly grave crime is up to 15 years in prison,” the police statement reads. “The woman admitted her guilt during the interrogation.”
Lev is now in the hospital and is expected to survive thanks to first aid from quick-thinking neighbors.
Litvina, on the other hand, who was known to enjoy mysticism, had never seemed violent or aggressive in the past.
Mysticism is popularly known as becoming one with God or the Absolute but may refer to any kind of ecstasy or altered state of consciousness which is given a religious or spiritual meaning.
It may also refer to the attainment of insight in ultimate or hidden truths, and to human transformation supported by various practices and experiences.
She sells fashionable clothes on her popular social media and according to her friends she was “cheerful”.
While some feel her practices may have caused the attack, others think her recent split with her husband may have triggered this reaction. It is unclear if Litvina has been sent for psychological assessment.
Police and residents in the Yekaterinburg community are still shocked and at a loss as to why a young mother would harm her child in such a horrible manner.
