Ace director and actor, Danny Devito, is responsible for bringing the brilliant novel on screen. And that’s when he featured the little 9-year-old starlet, Mara Wilson, as the famed Matilda.

Mara’s mom received news about her breast cancer in 1995. And that’s when Danny Devito showed great kindness. They offered to look after young Mara.
After Matilda’s shooting ended, Mara’s mother’s condition became worse. And that’s when she passed away on the 26th of April. Therefore, the entire event left a devastating impact on Mara and her family. She even created a memoir that was titled, ‘Where Am I Now?’

Mara couldn’t comprehend the moments unfolding within her eyes. Most importantly, she regretted how her mom couldn’t see the completed film.
However, that wasn’t actually the case. Thanks to her amazing Devito costar and actor, who told Mara the truth. He explained how he visited her mother, during her final days at the hospital. And that’s when he gave her an exclusive look at the almost completed movie.
Without a doubt, the news gave Mara a sigh of relief. She was grateful to the Devito family. And today, she lives on with closure and peace of mind. And while Danny may have been a bad father to Matilda in the movie, he’s as generous as ever in real life.
