A woman whose husband is six decades her senior has revealed that the couple is now trying for a baby.
24-year-old Miracle Pogue from Starkville, Mississippi, fell head over heels in love with 85-year-old Charles Pogue when the two met at a laundry shop back in 2019.
While both parties were aware of the age difference between them, they soon became best friends and went on to give their romance a try in spite of their 61-year age gap.
A year after their chance meeting, Charles proposed to Miracle and the couple said ‘yes’ to each other in a beautiful ceremony.
Now, the couple has also shared their plans for expanding their family, whereas Miracle admitted she wanted to ensure that Charles will experience being a father.
“I don’t care if he’s 100 or 55, I like him for him. I thought he was maybe 60 or 70 because he looks so good. He’s always up and active,” she said.
“My grandad said if I was happy and it’s what I want to do then he’s happy. My dad was like ‘hell no ma’am, not at all.’ It took a lot of time to convince him but I asked him if he wanted to lose his daughter forever.
“If he didn’t come to my wedding, he would have lost me forever. I told him I needed his support and to walk me down the aisle. Once he got to meet Charles and talk to him, he loved him.”
With their families on their side, Charles and Miracle are now looking into the possibilities of starting a family of their own.
“I want him to have another generation. We’re looking to go to an IVF clinic to talk about our options,” the young wife added.
“We went to an IVF clinic before but we really felt the pre-judgment even though they don’t know me and it was quite overwhelming. Now I’m forgetting it as long as they give me my baby. Maybe Charles’s age will stop us from having children but I have an open mind. It may not work.”
While their marriage runs without major hiccups, Miracle admitted that she sometimes worries about her husband due to his age.
She also said she “broke down” and prepared for the worst around Thanksgiving after Charles got Covid. Fortunately, however, he recovered.
Miracle also took the opportunity to hit back at her critics saying she’s never used Charles for money because she’s a nurse who can take care of herself.
“I will be well off with or without Charles, it’s a choice to be with him and it makes me feel good that he chooses me,” she added.
“It’s so crazy that people come after me, as he’s the older one. He’s with me of his own free will, he chose me. I’ve learned it’s OK for people to say how they feel, it’s a free country.”
“I have a lot of followers who are pro me and Charles. People say we look so good. People share their stories about their older men and say I make them feel comfortable in their skin,” Miracle concluded.
