1000lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton was rushed to a hospital after she reportedly ‘quit breathing’.
In an exclusive trailer shared by PEOPLE, fans were given a glimpse of the extent of the health complications Tammy was experiencing.
Her sister, Amy Slaton, also revealed that ‘her body shut down’ and left their family worried.
The teaser for the upcoming season shows Tammy being given a tracheotomy – a surgical procedure that involves creating a hole in the throat so that a breathing tube can be inserted.
This makes sure that she would be given emergency breathing support. But despite what happened, the 36-year-old boasted: “I’m still here, b*****s!”
In the video, Tammy can be seen asking her surgeon, Dr. Eric Smith, if she could get approved for bariatric surgery.
However, the doctor explained that she still has to lose a significant amount of weight first.
“I told you Tammy, you have real risks,” her doctor said.
Her brother Chris then added: “If she doesn’t get the surgery, she’s gonna die because of her weight.”
In the rehab facility that helps her lose weight, Tammy focuses on her new romance but her condition continues to deteriorate.
At one point, doctors can be heard shouting that her ‘oxygen is dropping’ before they rushed to her bedside.
Tammy’s family got emotional as they feared that ‘she’s gonna end up dead.’
But one thing’s for sure – Tammy managed to lose enough weight to undergo her surgery, thanks to her recent videos on TikTok.
The reality TV star gave her 322,000 followers a look at her impressive weight loss results by sharing a video of her lip-syncing to a Christmas song.
The upcoming season will also follow Amy’s pregnancy as she’s expecting her second child with her husband, Michael.
“The doctor has concerns about this baby because I’m still morbidly obese,” Amy said.
