As the mom explained, she initially resorted to inking to cope with the abuse she suffered at the hands of her brother when she was a child.

Later, inking became her passion and she even bought her own ink gun from Amazon so that she could tattoo herself whenever she pleases.

Unfortunately, however, her tats were not received well by everyone, whereas the mother claims she’s been banned from bars and uninvited from Christmas parties because of her unusual looks.

“I want to enjoy myself and go for a drink at the pub, but they won’t even let me in. I’m covered in tattoos, I’ve got 800 in total. l get tattoos three times a week. I even do my own tattoos at home,” the 45-year-old explained.

Despite being called names and having trouble socializing or keeping a job because of her tattoos, Melissa insists she will “never stop having tattoos until the end.”

“If someone offered me a job tomorrow I would go and work – I would take that offer,” she added.

“I expected this in life, I can’t fit in with people as I like to be me and I’m always going to be myself.”

She also explained that her tattoos work like a mask that helps her cover up the emotional scars left behind by her older brother, 46-year-old Gavin Sloan, who was jailed for 21 years for abusing her and other children.

“My tattoos help me cover the emotional scars that Gavin left behind. They’re my mask and I hide from the world behind them. But now that he is finally in jail, I can begin to feel free,” Melissa says.

“I found the tattoos very therapeutic; a way of blocking out the past and also the abuse.”
