Mother-Of-Three Who Was Scalped, Had Colon Torn Out And Arms Ripped Off Is Finally Discharged Seven Weeks After She Was Attacked By Dogs


A 38-year-old woman who was scalped, had her colon torn out and arms ripped off has finally been discharged after seven weeks in the hospital.

Kaylee Waltman was walking home from her boyfriend’s house in South Carolina when three dogs, a German shepherd and two pit bulls, attacked her.

According to reports, she lost consciousness during the attack and the dogs tore through her skin and her skull was left visible. The dogs also chewed into her colon and tore off her eyelid.

Fortunately, a local farmer named Vary Presley saved Waltman, firing a gun into the air and kicking one of the three dogs, which were all put down after the attack.

The dogs’ owner Justin Minor is now facing multiple charges.

After seven long weeks in the hospital, Waltman ahs finally returned home.

Her sister, Amy Wynne, said on GoFundMe: “It’s been rough, but we’ve been trying to get her settled into her life. She is a talker, lol… She is running our poor mama raged (sic) as the least.”

Wynne also revealed that her sister still faces many outpatient surgeries, including getting grafts to prevent her from losing a leg and having her shoulder re-grafted.

“(The leg) is healing, they have to pull her muscle up from her calf and see if that is gonna work,” Wynne said. “They did graft around the [wound] to see if it’ll take, and it did.”

On Tuesday, Wynne said that her mother has been taking care of Wynne as she has been denied Medicaid.

“So we have to do it all for her,” she wrote on GoFundMe. “Mama takes the brunt of it because Kyleen lives with mama.”

The family has raised over $260,000 to help cover Watman’s medical expenses.
