A doting mother and grandmother has passed away suddenly after a routine operation.
51-year-old Angela Gillies was a grandmother-of-three from Inverness, Scotland, who was looking forward to marrying the love of her life.
According to the reports, Angela died suddenly just weeks before her big day. Her death comes days after she was rushed to the ICU for what was described as a routine procedure.
Her heartbroken family has since revealed that the grandma was hospitalized for fibromyalgia, a chronic disorder that results in pain and soreness throughout the body. Operation for the condition can greatly reduce the sufferer’s symptoms.
It currently remains unclear whether the woman’s premature death was linked to the surgery or if she died from another cause.
“I am just so heartbroken and devastated… I am going to miss all my road trips with this special lady and our adventures,” Angela’s devastated fiancé, Kevin, said in a tribute to his partner.
“I promised my beautiful fiancée that I will be there for her lovely mum and dad… and her courageous sons and [their] partners.”
He added: “We have gained our three beautiful grandchildren. They will get us through this difficult time in our lives. I will love my fiancée for the rest of my life.”
Paying a tribute to the late grandma was also family friend Helen Duncan who set up a fundraiser for the grieving family.
“Angela loved life. She has 2 amazing sons, Kieran and Allan and daughter in laws Laura and Shona, who she treated like her own daughters. Between them they gifted her the best grandchildren,” Helen wrote on GoFundMe.
“Thea, Alaya and Killian. They were her world. And then there are her parents Maureen and Brian, who worked so hard. They were all so close.”
She continued: “She had so much love for others, was excited by others accomplishments and saddened by others hurt. I am fortunate enough to have known her.”
Our thoughts remain with Angela’s loved ones during this challenging time.
