A McDonald’s worker went viral after recording himself quitting his job because he was asked to do the dishes.
The worker in question worked at a McDonald’s store in New Zealand when the manager of the branch asked him to clean a large pile of greasy dishes and cooking equipment.
Responding to the orders, the young man started filming the kitchen before declaring: “Hell no, I am not cleaning that, I ain’t cleaning that. Actually, I quit!”
The worker then walked out of the store laughing while his shocked manager ran after him and screamed at him to return to his post.
“I quit, I’m leaving Maccas. See you on the flip side b****!” the young man added.
Just hours after the footage appeared on social media, it was viewed by millions of people who were left divided. While some praised the boy for standing up for himself, others slammed him for abandoning his work post and leaving his colleagues with even more tasks on their hands.
“I work at McDonald’s, I feel u,” someone wrote.
“I’d be pi**ed off too if they kept using me to clean after them,” another said.
Many people, however, slammed the young man and his work ethic while branding him as a “spoiled brat” and an “ungrateful” person.
“Kids these days are lazy and entitled. What happened to ppl being happy to have the opportunity to work and make a living?” someone pondered.
“I would understand if he wanted to quit afterward but he literally abandoned his colleagues when they needed him the most,” another added.
