A man who was linked to a woman who is ‘trapped in an 8-year-old’s body’ has shared an update about their relationship.
TLC’s I Am Shauna Rae star Shauna Rae Lesick is 3ft 10in tall and weighs 50 lbs even though she’s already 23 years old.
It was previously revealed that she underwent treatment for brain cancer when she was still a baby and it impacted her pituitary gland, which caused her to develop pituitary dwarfism.
Audiences watch Shauna Rae navigate her daily life and one of the things that have been leaving them baffled is her love life.
While her parents are concerned that their daughter will attract men with negative intensions, those who actually have genuine interest are left subjected to criticism on social media.
After Dan Swygat, 26, watched the reality show, she contacted Shauna Rae and the two immediately formed a bond.
The man from Wales also met the 23-year-old’s family but he was slammed by haters online, with many calling him a ‘creep’ for reaching out to Shauna Rae.
Now, Dan has shared an update about their relationship and it seems that they are still communicating even though they are living in different countries.
“Literally every single time I go on Facebook or YouTube all I see are videos of me and Shauna,” Dan wrote on Instagram Stories.
“Me and Shauna are still good friends, getting to know each other.”
After Dan was slammed online for his relationship with Shauna, his parents were quick to jump to his defense.
In an interview with Daily Mail, Dan’s mother Helen said: “Daniel rang me and told me the story has gone everywhere. They are just friends. There is no relationship.”
Dan’s father, Steven, also said: “He looks at her and thinks she is a tremendous person despite her disability, she’s only small.”
