A man refused to tell doctors why he was suffering from constipation because he feared his wife.
The 50-year-old reportedly went to the hospital with his wife, who became concerned after he suddenly experienced severe constipation and abdominal pain.
But instead of telling the truth about what was causing the problem, he successfully kept it a secret from his spouse until he underwent a CT scan.
According to the article published in the Clinical Case Reports Journal, the Iranian man inserted a plastic bottle containing 250ml of water into his bum.
It got stuck there for three long days until his wife finally took him to the hospital where he underwent routine examinations and no abnormalities were found.
A CT scan of his pelvis and abdomen then revealed the bottle that was inserted bottom-first, in order to use the top as a grip to take it out.
But when it was time to pull it, the bottle wound up trapped in his large intestine.
The patient then had a surgical consultation before he was transferred to the operating room in Imam Khomeini Hospital to remove the foreign object.
The surgeon managed to ‘drag’ the bottle out without any bleeding or ruptures. Only a few days later, he was discharged from the hospital.
The medical report also said that most foreign objects that are inserted into the bum are to achieve self-gratification.
“As a result, the instruments used by patients are usually smooth, rounded, cylindrical, or egg-shaped,” the report added.
The Clinical Case Reports also mentioned that the man had a history of depression and was referred to a psychiatric clinic.
