According to the lodger, the grandfather whispered the word ‘rooster’ before he lost consciousness.

But after losing so much blood, the victim sadly passed away.

His daughter, Ms. Guinan, told an inquest that she rushed to the house and found paramedics at the scene, according to the Irish Mirror.

It was her father’s lodger, Corey O’Keefe, who contacted her and told her about the incident.

O’Keeffe, who had been living with Mr. Kraus for two years, had just returned home from a night shift. The inquest heard that he fed the animals and greeted the grandfather but not long after, he was woken by Mr. Kraus yelling ‘come quick.’

For 25 minutes, he performed CPR on the elderly man before paramedics arrived. He said that blood was coming out of his leg and that he noticed a deep wound in his calf.

Before losing consciousness, Mr. Kraus said the word ‘rooster’ to his tenant.

The 67-year-old lost so much blood and suffered a heart attack.

Dr. Ramadan Shatwan, who carried out an autopsy, said the cause of death was due to lethal cardiac arrythmia in the context of severe coronary atheroma and cardiomegaly.

Mr. Guinan said she knew the rooster was the culprit as it had previously ‘attacked my daughter.’

She told the inquest that she wanted to get rid of the animal but her father wanted to keep it.
