The Maleficent actress has been identified as the ‘Jane Doe’ who anonymously filed a lawsuit against the FBI after an investigation into her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, was closed.
It has finally been confirmed that the unnamed plaintiff in the lawsuit is Angelina Jolie, 47, following 2016 allegations of verbal and physical assault against the Ad Astra actor, Puck News’ Eriq Gardner said.
According to reports, the suit asked for the FBI to give documents related to the case after Jolie alleged that Pitt “physically and verbally assaulted” not only her but also their children.
The bureau then cleared the actor of any misconduct in the alleged incident, which occurred during a private jet flight. Only days later, Jolie filed for divorce and demanded full custody of their children.
The lawsuit also revealed that Pitt poured beer on Angelina and put his hands on her during the flight. Details further said that the actor grabbed the actress on her shoulders and shook her while shouting; ‘You’re f*****g up this family.’
On Tuesday, Puck shared the story revealing that Jolie complained about a lack of transparency on why the investigation into Pitt was closed.
Before the FBI said that Pitt won’t be charged with assault, the agent investigating the case “prepared a statement of probable cause and presented it to the chief of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles” but then a decision not to pursue any charges was made.
Sources close to Pitt believe that Jolie only filed the lawsuit to bring press attention to the claims against her ex-husband, TMZ reported.
Jolie and Pitt are parents to six children: Maddox, twins Vivienne and Knox, daughters Zahara and Shiloh, and son Pax.
