Currently, on remand, the nurse who is a graduate from Chester University says she is not guilty despite the massive amount of evidence found against her. She was reportedly working at the Countess of Chester Hospital when the incident occurred.

After entering the courtroom and listening to the pleas, the defendant for the case sat in silence, listening to the hearing which mostly revolved around administrative issues.

At first, Letby was detained by officers from Cheshire Police in the year 2018 and that was in relation to the ever-growing number of death cases relating to the neonatal unit where she worked.

However, she was soon re-arrested over a similar matter in the year 2019 as a growing number of alleged offenses came out in the open, and again, made their way to her name last year.

Therefore, the police were quick to launch an investigation regarding the matter as the hospital also began raising eyebrows and concerns on the matter as there were a great number of deaths between March 2015 and July 2016. And that was recorded to be above the usual average.
