Celebration Of Halloween Or Valentine’s Day BANNED For The Elementary School Students


The celebration of Halloween and Valentine’s day is canceled for the students of elementary schools in Michigan.

East Lansing Public schools have decided not to celebrate the events on Halloween and Valentine’s day in the school as many students, including Jehovah’s Witnesses, evangelical Christians, and Muslims, are not comfortable celebrating these events.

According to the school’s administration, several students in the school do not celebrate Halloween or Valentine’s day due to multiple reasons. Many parents are not comfortable with the exchange of valentines between girls and boys and avoid celebrating this day as it is associated with exchanging of item by referring them to love.

Assistant Superintendent Glenn Mitcham shared her thoughts regarding this cancellation. According to her, the events of Halloween and Valentine’s day could be a part of the curriculum but will not be celebrated in the school at all. Children can use a pumpkin to measure its circumference but not for the celebration of Halloween.

Elaborating further, she proclaimed that the administration of East Lansing Public Schools is trying its best to provide equal rights to the students, and the racial equity team is working on it.point 282 |

The same thing happened in Seattle, where an elementary school has canceled its annual Halloween Parade because some students prefer not to participate in it.point 134 | 1
