A young and beautiful primary school teacher was beaten to death along the banks of the Grand Canal recently.
According to local media reports, the death has been deemed to be a random attack that occurred while she was jogging at a renowned walking spot in Ireland. But little did she know that her passion to pursue a healthy lifestyle would actually cause her to lose her life in the end.
The victim has been identified by the police as 22-year-old Ashling Murphy who worked at a primary school located in Tullamore. She passed away on Wednesday during the afternoon hours alongside the banks of the Grand Canal.
Meanwhile, one male suspect has been taken into police custody in connection to the harrowing incident that led to the tragic murder of the teacher in County Offaly. Sources claim that he is currently being interrogated for the matter.
On the other hand, the police are appealing for witnesses to come forward if they happened to be present at the crime scene or whether or not they know any details about the bizarre yet tragic crime.
Authorities investigating the matter did mention how Murphy was running at a slow pace alongside the canal’s bank which is known as Fiona’s way and that’s when she was attacked in the most brutal manner.
Cops investigating the horrifying matter did reveal how they plan on leaving no stone unturned as they vow to bring the victim’s killer to justice.
Reports from the Independent spoke about how Murphy arose from a highly respectable family in the local area that is famous for its music scene.
In the same way, local media outlets revealed how two women did manage to witness the attack and even claimed to see the suspect quickly flee from the scene of the crime and that’s when he was later arrested.
