At least eight people were badly crushed after a low-flying helicopter made its way over a kid’s party.
Sources from local media outlets were quick to speak about how the majority of the victims were young kids that sustained serious injuries to their bodies. The incident reportedly took place in Thailand.
The helicopter was seen dangling too low and releasing treats for young children that happened to be at the party. It belonged to the Thai navy but little was it aware that it was going to end up doing more harm than any good.
Sources from local media outlets mentioned how the helicopter was just too low. It was throwing down sweets and flowers for the kids.
And then, all of a sudden, the room of the venue comes crashing down. Tents were seen falling down and people yelling and screaming were heard from miles away.
Once the helicopter realized the deadly mistake, it went back up and called for rescue services to arrive and assist in the management of the disaster.
Out of the eight people injured, five were kids and three were adults. One adult suffered massive injuries to her body including a broken neck and a cut to her head. Local media outlets identified her to be 58-year-old Nareerat Khumkana.
The event where the disaster struck was stated to be in honor of National Children’s Day in the eastern part of Thailand. But little did anyone know that this would result in the end.
It was panic and chaos all around. The attendees were seen trying their best to get out of the way as the destruction struck and the roof came slamming down to the ground.
The Mayor of the district vowed to compensate all those injured while the country’s government and naval forces sent out an apology for the unfortunate tragedy.
