A beloved health influencer died suddenly at the age of just 49 after beating addiction and depression through exercise.
Adriana Thyssen was a Brazilian fitness influencer and lifestyle coach who boasted nearly two million followers on Facebook and Instagram.
The 49-year-old lady became a viral sensation after winning her battle with addiction and depression and losing one hundred pounds in the process after following her exhausting fitness regime and a healthier diet.
Thyssen, who also went by the nickname Drika, achieved further success as she launched her own clothing label under the name Drika’s Store.
Unfortunately, Adriana was found dead in her apartment on September 17. The cause of death currently remains unclear.
“It is with deep sadness and regret that our team and family Blog da Drika and Drikas Store inform you of the death of our dear Drika. In this moment of pain, we ask for everyone’s prayers and compassion,” an official statement shared via the influencer’s pages read.
Meanwhile, the woman’s family broke silence and shed some light on the circumstances that possibly played a role in Adriana’s death.
“She was strong, for a long, long time. She always looked for love and only received crumbs,” her cousin, Amanda Lourenço, expressed.
“Haters have already done too much, so at this moment, I ask everyone for compassion, understanding and empathy.”
Lourenço added: “Please continue to keep her in your prayers. This way she can find the peace she wanted so much (even though it’s not in the fairest way).
“Take care of yourselves, take care of those who are with you. Think before saying ANYTHING to others, because we don’t know what they are going through and your words can hurt a lot.”
