A 33-year-old woman whose own father is accused of assault*ng her while on a holiday has waived her right to anonymity.
Tammi Forsythe, who wanted to prove that his father is ‘100% innocent,’ said that the real culprit is out there while her father is behind prison bars in Crete. She also revealed that she fears she may be pregnant by the attacker.
Recalling the moment she was dragged into a bush, the mother-of-four said that she wanted to be named so that authorities could catch the person responsible.
Tammi and her father went on a trip to celebrate his birthday and they were scheduled to return to the UK on June 19.
“It’s not an easy thing for me to come out publicly but the world needs to know how me, and my father are suffering,” she told MailOnline.
“He is 100% innocent. The Greek police have treated us appallingly.
“As far as they are concerned, this is just a case of a drunken Brit on holiday. If we were Greek citizens, we would not have been treated like this.”
She also said that the cops just decided from the start that it was her father who was guilty and did not do anything to find the real attacker.
“The time has come for me to speak out so that we can get justice,” she added.
Her father was arrested on June 11 two days after she reported the incident. He is currently being held in jail in Tripoli and is awaiting DNA test results.
He has been told by prosecutors that he will either face trial or could be released, depending on the results.
Tammi said that she is still in Greek and has been speaking to her father every day.
“I only get to speak to him for a few minutes. He’s in a terrible state psychologically and doesn’t understand why this has happened because he’s not done anything wrong,” the mother-of-four expressed.
“My father suffers from diabetes and a number of other serious medical issues. He’s not eaten properly for five days and is close to having a breakdown. I’m really worried that this whole thing might kill him.”
Greek officials said that Mr. Forsythe was arrested after CCTV footage from the bar showed that he indulged in ‘inappropriate activity’ with Tammi hours before the attack.
“’I was drunk out of my head; I could barely move. He was just trying to get me up to take me back to the hotel and put me to bed,” Tammi said.
“I lashed out at him because I was so drunk and angry. At one stage, I think I bit his hand. That’s all the CCTV footage shows-a father trying to help his very drunk daughter. There was nothing sexual going on between us. It’s a disgusting and ridiculous thing to say.”
