The woman who claims she could be the missing child Madeleine McCann is set to take a DNA test.
21-year-old Julia Wendell, who is also known as Julia Faustyna, sparked fresh interest in the missing case of Madeleine McCann who disappeared from a resort in Portugal back on May 3, 2007.
According to the young woman, her family was acting suspiciously when it came to her past, whereas she allegedly once overheard her mother admitting that they “took her.”
“What we found after some digging into this is that she overheard her mom saying something along the lines of ‘I don’t know why we have this girl, she has always been a troublemaker since we took her,’” Dr. Julia’s representative, Fia Johansson, said.
“Since then she started to question what was going on and whether her parents were her true parents.”
Julia also drew similarities between herself and the missing girl as she pointed out she has the same eye defect and birthmarks as Madeleine.
It is now believed that the 21-year-old also agreed to undergo a DNA test, and is possibly in the process of awaiting the results, after Madeleine’s parents agreed to take a DNA test as well.
The news comes after Julia’s family refused to agree to a DNA test.
“Julia once wanted to be a singer, a model. She always wanted to be popular,” they said in a statement.
“What’s happening now is she has got 1 million followers. The internet won’t forget, and it’s obvious that Julia isn’t Maddie. We are devastated at this current situation.”
The family added: “For us as a family it is obvious that Julia is our daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and step niece. We have memories, we have pictures. Julia also has these photos, because she took them from the family home with the birth certificate, as well as numerous hospital discharges.”
