A woman was left “shaken up” after nearly getting killed by a random man who tried to pull her onto train tracks.
The shocking incident took place at King’s Cross London Underground, UK, where a man grabbed a woman whom he allegedly didn’t know and started pulling her towards the tracks while she waited at the Hammersmith and City Line.
British Transport Police confirmed that officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a “serious incident” at 1.26 pm on Monday.
Fortunately, the victim was not hurt in the attack except for the fact that she was badly “shaken up” by the random act of violence.
The attacker, ironically, got struck by an oncoming train himself while attempting to throw the woman onto the tracks. He was later rushed to the hospital to receive treatment for head injuries.
While an investigation into the random attack remains ongoing, BTP suggested that the attacker and the victim weren’t known to each other. The motive for the attack remains unclear.
Following the incident at London’s Underground, the attacker was arrested by the police on suspicion of attempted murder.
“It’s believed a man attempted to pull a woman onto the tracks, before being hit by the train himself. The woman was thankfully unharmed, but understandably shaken up,” a spokesperson for British Transport Police said.
“While enquiries into the incident are at an early stage, it’s not believed the two were known to each other.
“The man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and taken to hospital for treatment to head injuries.”
