The self-induced labor was a clear violation of the Texas-based ‘heartbeat law’ that prohibits citizens from indulging in such practices.

At the moment, the suspect is being held in the state’s Star County Jail where there is a $500,000 bond attached to her name.

But it is still not revealed how far in she was in her pregnancy.

For those who may not be aware, Texas bans all types of abortions after the baby’s first heartbeat detection or embryonic ‘heartbeat’.

Sources stated that the suspect carried out a self-induced abortion which she confirmed was done knowingly and intentionally in a recent police report.

After the shocking news broke out, a protest was held right outside the jail where she is being held and activists demanded her immediate release.

They also referred to the incident as inhuman and unjust because they allege she was at the hospital and had a miscarriage, which she informed the hospital staff, who then decided to report the incident to the cops on an immediate basis.

Sources have gone on to reveal how the group protesting the case was the same one that protested against Texas passing the anti-abortion bill or ‘Heartbeat Law’.

The group continues to argue how authorities simply can’t criminalize abortions because it takes away a person’s autonomy over their body.
