A 20-year-old man has woken up from a coma after he was reportedly stung by nearly 20,000 African killer bees recently.
Sources claim the man had even swallowed up to 30 of them. The incident took place when he was trying to cut down a lemon tree while slicing open a giant hive. But little did he know about the massacre that awaited him.
The victim was identified as 20-year-old Austin Bellamy who was put into a medically induced coma after the horrifying incident.
He has since then woken up but still has difficulty breathing and for that reason, has been placed on a ventilator after suffering the most massive stings.
His family says they watched the horrifying episode unfold before their eyes but they were helpless and there was very little that they could do in such a matter.
“We saw it all unfold before our eyes from the ground. We just couldn’t come to his rescue because they also came under attack”- he explained. The firefighters were called in and they were the ones that ended up rescuing him in the end.
After that, they immediately airlifted him to a new destination which was a medical facility in the vicinity. And now, he is expected to make his recovery.
Austin’s images are now going viral online and they show how the aftermath of the bee stings has left him in a dire condition. His entire face is swollen and there is little to no area that hasn’t been stung.
The victim of the massive bee attack says he and his loved ones found it hard to recognize him because that’s how severe the swelling had become.
It is believed Austin accidentally cut the hive while cutting a lemon tree and that is what instigated the horrifying bee attack.
