All six members of the same family have reportedly passed away in a horror crash that took place in Illinois recently.
According to local media outlets, 32-year-old Thomas Dobosz was stated to be driving his Chevrolet van on the I-90 during the early hours of Sunday morning. But little did he and his family know about the horror that lay ahead of them on that day.
It is believed a female driver by the name of Jennifer Fernandez happened to be coming in the opposite direction and was driving the wrong way. But it’s still not clear why or what made her drive in that manner.
Therefore, her vehicle smashed into the van that included Thomas, his wife, and four children.
All six members of the same family died as did another child who was present in the other vehicle. While Thomas’s wife and kids were declared dead at the site of the crash, Thomas did manage to survive the initial aftermath and was rushed to a nearby local hospital for treatment.
He is believed to have sustained the worst critical injuries in the aftermath of the crash and was battling for his life in the ICU. Only recently, he was pronounced dead by officials.
At the moment, investigators are working hard to try and determine what exactly led to the crash and the other driver was coming from the wrong direction on a one-way road, considering the fact that it was the highway.
The incident took place on Sunday during the late night hours of 2 am at Interstate 90 in the rural region of McHenry County. This was located just 50 miles northwest of the city of Chicago, as revealed by local media outlets.
Currently, loved ones are in a state of absolute shock and grief as they mourn the loss of a beautiful family in a senseless tragedy.
