Three people have reportedly been killed recently after a giant van crashed into a taxi after it was caught driving the wrong way.
Local media reports claim the van had made its way down the highway and then rammed into a taxi there, killing the victims inside.
Now, the police have confirmed the arrest of a teenage boy who is suspected to have been behind the wheel of the van. Cops claim they suspect him of dangerous driving after the mega-smash that took place during the later hours in Bradford that day.
It is believed that the stolen van had refused to stop despite receiving instructions from the police that were stationed in the area. And hence it continued to drive down the road in the wrong direction along the highway.
The crash was reported to have taken place at about 10:45 in the night on Monday.
Paramedics confirmed the deaths of two males located inside the taxi and they were pronounced dead at the horrifying scene of the crime. They were identified as 49-year-old Simon McHugh and 28-year-old Sohail Ali.
One other victim included a teenager who was found inside the van. He is believed to have passed away due to his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.
This 15-year-old driver was soon arrested on the suspicion that he caused the deaths of three people but is currently located at the hospital where he is seeking medical treatment for his serious wounds. Doctors did confirm that he was not out of danger.
There was another teenage boy seeking medical treatment at the hospital but thankfully, his injuries were not regarded to be life-threatening.
The nature of the incident has left the West Yorkshire police with no choice but to inform the Independent Office to carry out police conduct.
