JUST IN: University To Pay $14 Million To Grieving Family After Student, 20, Tragically Died Following Intense Workout With Wrestling Team

The grieving family of a 20-year-old student who tragically died from heatstroke following a workout has reached a $14 million settlement with a Kentucky university.

The parents of Grant Brace reportedly sued the University of the Cumberlands after their son passed away only hours after a workout with the wrestling team in 2020.

He died after a ‘punishment practice’ during which coaches ‘ignored Grant’s deteriorating medical condition throughout practice,’ the lawsuit filed by the family said.

The lawsuit also stated how Brace repeatedly begged for water but university wrestling coaches would not let anyone help him and sent him out of the wrestling facility by himself.

After leaving the training session, the student tried to drink from an outdoor water fountain but it wasn’t working.

Surveillance footage released by Good Morning America also showed him trying to enter a locked building.

The student was found dead ‘with his hands clinched in the grass and dirt after a desperate and erratic search for assistance and water,” the lawsuit continued.

According to WTVD, Brace had ADHD and narcolepsy and was prescribed Adderall, which requires hydration.

Grant’s grieving father, Kyle Brace, said: “They did it and didn’t care. They didn’t care.

“He was on all fours, and he had dug his hands in the dirt, and he had fistfuls of dirt.
