Ms. Bulley had just dropped her daughters off at school before walking her dog Willow near the River Wyre in St. Michael’s when she vanished.

According to reports, she logged on to a conference call at around 9:00 am.

The Microsoft Teams call ended at around 9:30 am but when it was found on a bench near the river at around 10:30, it was still connected to the conference call.

Her dog was also found running around in a distressed manner.

Lancashire Police have been working around the clock searching the area where she disappeared.

Their main working hypothesis was that Ms. Bulley had fallen into the river – a theory firmly rejected by Bulley’s family and friends.

Forensic diving expert Peter Faulding also said that he was ‘truly baffled’ by the case, adding that he doesn’t believe the mother fell into the river.

He said that if Ms. Bulley had drowned, her body would’ve been found by now.

Now, police have arrested a woman, 20, and a man, 49, involved in spreading malicious messages about the case after it was reported by the BBC that the two had been leaving malevolent voice messages about Ms. Bulley to local parish counselors.

Michael Vincent, the leader of the council, said he would ‘not tolerate’ the ‘vile’ abuse of elected members.

“It is a shame we have had to take this step at such a difficult time and appropriate steps are being taken to ensure that residents are still able to contact their elected representatives,” he said.
