Travis Scott faces yet another lawsuit after a woman allegedly lost her baby during his performance at Astroworld Festival.
Shanazia Williamson and her partner, Jarawd Owens, were at the Astroworld Festival in Dayton, Ohio, on November 5, 2021, when a fatal crowd crush took place and cost ten people their lives.
Williamson has since launched a legal battle against rapper Travis Scott who reportedly continued his performance even after warnings that the audience was in danger.
As the young woman who was pregnant at the time claims, she lost her unborn child after being trampled and crushed by the out-of-control crowd.
Besides Travis Scott, Owens and Williamson also named security companies ASM Global and Valle Services SMG, festival promoters ScoreMore and Live Nation, and The Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation in their suit.
“While in attendance at the festival, Shanazia was trampled and crushed resulting in horrific injuries and ultimately the death of her and Jarawd’s unborn child. In addition, Shanazia sustained injuries to her shoulder, back, leg, chest, stomach and other parts of her body,” the suit reads.
“Defendants’ failure to plan, design, manage, operate, staff, and supervise the event was a direct and proximate cause of Shanazia’s injuries and death of her and Jarawd’s unborn child.”
The couple further alleged that the organizers failed to provide adequate medical assistance and security during the event.
Williamson and Owens’ suit is one of the hundreds of lawsuits that the rapper and the organizers of the unfortunate event are facing.
According to the reports, some 700 people are suing the organizers and at least 4,900 reported some kinds of injuries as a result of the crowd crush.
