Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff was hospitalized following a major car crash during the filming of Top Gear.
The 45-year-old father-of-four and British TV host was reportedly filming at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey, England, when he got into a crash while reviewing a car at 125 mph.
After the horrific crash, the Top Gear co-host was airlifted to the hospital. It is believed his injuries are not life-threatening.
“All the usual health and safety measures were in place for filming too. Freddie was taken to hospital by air ambulance shortly afterwards,” a source told The Sun.
“Filming has been postponed for now and all anyone cares about is Freddie recovering.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson confirmed to MailOnline that the co-host was rushed to the hospital after receiving basic treatment on the scene.
“Freddie was injured in an accident at the Top Gear test track this morning – with crew medics attending the scene immediately. He has been taken to hospital for further treatment and we will confirm more details in due course,” they said.
The narrow escape from death comes just years after Flintoff had a near-death experience during which his jet trike swerved off the road and down the runway at high speed.
Following the scary crash, the 45-year-old insisted he was “absolutely fine” and uninjured.
“I go to great lengths to make sure I do well in Top Gear drag races but, on this occasion, I went a few lengths too far. It will look more ridiculous than dangerous when you see it on TV,” he said at the time.
