BREAKING: Queen Of Rock ‘N’ Roll Tina Turner Has Died


Tina Turner has passed away after decades of making music and entertaining her fans with her captivating performance.

The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll died at the age of 83 on Wednesday. Her representative also confirmed that the singer died at her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland, after a long battle with her illness.

“Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll’ died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model,” the music icon’s rep said.

The official statement shared on the musician’s Instagram page read:

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow.

“Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family.

Tina began her music career in the 1950s and found fame worldwide in the 60s’ after becoming an MTV sensation with hits like River Deep, Nutbush City Limits, and Mountain High.

Unfortunately, her fame significantly retracted by the end of the 1970s after Tina appeared to remove herself from the spotlight because of the abuse she had suffered at the hands of her then-husband Ike Turner.

In 1983, Turner returned to the music scene with a hit cover of Let’s Stay Together by Al Green which led her to sign a contract with Capitol Records and later her album Private Dancer.

In the following years, Turner released dozens of songs and albums and made her name as a superstar with hits like The Best.

In 2000, Tina announced her retirement after her final solo album titled Twenty Four Seven. She returned to the stage for the 2008 Grammy Awards and finally for her 50-year career anniversary tour.

Following her retirement, Turner settled down in Switzerland together with her husband and record executive Erwin Bach.
