Three sisters aged 5, 8, and 9 were found dead on a neighbor’s property after disappearing from their home in Texas.
Te’Marie Robinson Oliver, 5, A’Miyah Hughes, 8, and Zi’Ariel Robinson Oliver, 9, were being babysat by a family friend when they vanished from their home on Friday night.
Their lifeless bodies were discovered in a neighbor’s private pond early Saturday morning.
Their grieving mother took to social media and said that the “loss of my sweet babies” is so unreal.”
Even though it was a difficult time, she said that she “has to be strong for the sake of my three other babies.”
The three young children vanished from their home around 10 pm on Friday, prompting a massive search for them.
The babysitter who had been watching the siblings called 911 when she noticed that the girls disappeared.
Police received reports that the children were found in a pond around 2 am Saturday.
Texas Game Warden Shawn Hervey told KSLA: “We located items of clothing around a pond and in a pond.
“So, we centered the search around that small body of water, and with the use of divers we were able to recover three victims at approximately 2am.”
Video from the scene shows an abandoned bicycle near the pond but it is not clear if it belonged to the children.
Cass County Sheriff Larry Rowe told the Texarkana Gazette: “We have no idea what the girls were doing there.”
Authorities haven’t reached any conclusions about the girls’ tragic deaths.
“Nobody has been accused of anything,” Rowe continued.
“This is not an everyday occurrence, but it does happen,” Harvey also said.
Speaking to Daily Mail, the grieving mother Shommaonique said that she’s not conducting interviews as she’s heartbroken over the loss of her children.
“At this time I’m just trying to bury my babies.”
She has setup a GoFundMe page for funeral expenses. “This was so unexpected and a big hurt and shock to myself and my family. We are now asking for help to lay my sweet angels to rest,” she wrote. “Whatever you can donate will be appreciated.”
