A Legoland rollercoaster crash has left 34 people seriously injured after two trains were seen colliding into one another, head-on.
The incident took place in the southern part of Germany recently, prompting officials to rush to the scene and carry out a rescue operation.
The exact location of the terrifying incident was identified to be the Feurdrache or Fire Dragon station area, which is a famous rollercoaster located in Legoland at Guenzburg.
One witness confirmed the horror of the incident where one train was seen braking seriously, while the other one simply crashed right into it.
The types of injuries seen on the victims ranged from bruises and bumps to abrasions, as paramedics could be seen offering their first aid assistance at the venue of the incident. As of now, it’s still now immediately clear to authorities as to how an incident of this magnitude managed to take place at the popular tourist attraction.
One spokesperson for Legoland mentioned during the afternoon hours how one of the two trains was cleared while the other was currently being evacuated. She even confirmed how all rescue officers are still present at the scene and carrying out their duties.
At the same time, it was revealed how the park is still open for visitors and there are yet to be any signs of closure.
Meanwhile, images from the site of the incident featured three helicopters being deployed on the giant theme park, moments after the crash had ensued. Other personnel including doctors, paramedics, firefighters, and the police were also pictured taking part in the rescue efforts.
The police are remaining hush on the exact cause of the incident as they feel the investigations will ultimately determine the real cause of the accident and for that reason, they aren’t interested in speculating further.
