The Texas mom who went missing several weeks ago was found dead in her car.
39-year-old Christina Lee Powell was last seen well and alive on July 5 when she was recorded leaving her San Antonio home in a hurry.
According to the reports, the paralegal left her home at around 10:34 am after calling her bosses to tell them she was running late.
After leaving her home, the woman never returned and the police initiated a search three days later.
Three weeks after her mysterious disappearance, Christina was found dead in the parking lot of Huebner Oaks Center strip mall in San Antonio.
As the officials revealed, the woman was discovered in the passenger seat of her Nissan Rogue which was “parked in the same location for about a week” before the search came to a tragic end.
According to the reports, the woman didn’t display any signs of trauma and the windows of her car were closed.
Powell’s body was discovered by a Huebner Oaks Center security guard who called the police after noticing a foul odor coming from the vehicle on Saturday night.
“My beautiful daughter, Christina Powell, has been found, deceased. I am heartbroken. Thank you for all your prayers,” the 39-year-old’s mother, Claudia Mobley, said as she confirmed her daughter’s death.
Recalling her final conversation with her daughter, Mobley previously told Fox News she didn’t suspect anything was off with her daughter.
“We didn’t really have any kind of in-depth conversation. It was basically, ‘Good morning.’ She told me she was late. Then, she was leaving for work, and I told her to be careful. And I probably told her, ‘love you,’” she said.
She continued: “I felt like she was going, I believed she was going to work — and I think she felt like she was going to work.”
While Powell’s family previously suggested the mother had a fight with the father of one of her kids shortly before her disappearance, the man is reportedly cooperating with the police and isn’t a person of interest.
As of this writing, the cause of the death remains unclear and the investigation into the case continues.
