Following the mass shooting, the Texas Department of Public Safety launched a probe into the massacre after it came to light that the officers at the scene failed to storm the classroom the shooter had barricaded himself into for nearly an hour.

While there were reportedly already 19 cops in the school by 12.03 pm – half an hour after Ramos entered the school – it wasn’t until 12.50 pm the classroom Ramos was in was breached and the gunman was shot dead.

It has since also been revealed that Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Chief Pete Arredondo was the on-scene incident commander during the tragic May 24 shooting.

According to some claims, it was Arredondo, the highest-ranking officer at the scene, who ordered other officers – including border patrol agents and federal officers – to wait before storming the classroom.

On Tuesday, after a probe into the massacre was launched by Texas DPS, spokesperson Travis Considine suggested that the chief has stopped cooperating with Texas rangers following his first interview.

“Uvalde and Uvalde CISD departments have been cooperating with investigators,” Considine revealed in a statement to DailyMail.com.

Meanwhile, ABC News reported multiple law enforcement sources claiming that both Uvalde Independent School District Police and Uvalde Police Department have stopped cooperating with the state investigation.

The news comes after DPS head Steven McCraw blasted Arredondo’s delayed police entry saying it was “the wrong decision” that went against the protocol.

It has since also been revealed that Arredondo completed an active shooter situation training in December 2021, just months before the practiced methods should be applied at Robb Elementary School.
