Suspect Myles Sanderson, 30, has been missing since the massacre. His brother Damien, an alleged accomplice, was found lifeless on Monday.

It is not clear if Damien was killed by his brother Myles Sanderson, who drove 200 miles south of the reservation to say goodbye to his family and friends.

“It is an investigative avenue that we are following up on, but we can’t say that definitively at this point,” a spokesperson for the Royal Canadian Mountain Police said.

A source said that the suspect likely took his own life after making the trip.

“If Myles Sanderson was alive and being harbored somewhere by someone, we’d know about it by now,” the source said to The Beast.

Sanderson has been wanted since May after he stopped appearing in court-mandated visits with his parole officer.

He vanished while out on parole on a 5-year sentence for robbery, making threats, assault, and mischief.

He was charged with three counts of first-degree murder, one count of breaking and entering, and one count of attempted murder.

His brother Damien was previously charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of breaking and entering, and one count of attempted murder. But police confirmed that he has been found dead.

The brothers reportedly fled in a black Nissan Rogue SUV which was seen nearly 200 miles south of the reserve.

A woman took to Facebook and wrote: “This is my brothers’ vehicle that they took when they entered our home this morning in James Smith Cree Nation. We (can’t) care less about the vehicle but let these monsters be caught.”
