Actor Ben Stiller has left his fans and critics in a state of absolute shock and bewilderment recently.
The celeb was blasted for issuing a series of bold comments when his film was accused of blackface.
The incident is actually very incident, considering the film that was directed by Stiller was launched in the year 2008. He was the director of Tropic Thunder and that really turned out to be a massive hit success at the box office.
But so many years later, trolls and critics are accusing the celeb of making millions through the likes of sensitive topics including blackface. And that’s not something they feel too comfortable about.
The hit movie titled, ‘Tropic Thunder’ may have ended up with plenty of accolades in the past, but now, it’s just being downright blasted as in the film, actor Robert Downey Jr’s character was observed trying to fight as a black soldier.
His goal was to darken his skin using black pigment. And that’s how he would fight alongside with them for the battle.
As one can probably expect, seeing this issue arise now is not a huge surprise. In a time like today, even some of the biggest campaigns are getting hateful comments and being blasted for taking on sensitive matters such as these.
Therefore, Ben Stiller wasted no time in coming forward and issuing a statement on the matter via his Twitter account. This is where he explained that people need to stop with nonsense. And if they do plan on continuing, there is no way he would be issuing an apology as that was never his intention.
“It’s amazing how Twitter liberals can really turn any issue into a matter that was never really meant to be that way. Stop trying to cancel culture my film, it’s not right and I won’t even begin to get started on other issues”- he explained.
