BREAKING: At Least 4 DEAD And 70 INJURED After A Three-Story Stadium Collapses


Several dozen people were left injured and at least four were killed after a section of a three-story stadium collapsed.

The deadly incident takes place in El Espinal, Colombia, where thousands of spectators gathered at a bullring for an event in which members of the public go up against small bulls in the ring.

While dozens of people were facing a bull in the arena, a large section of the stadium came crashing down after wooden beams gave in under the weight and cracked.

“There are four people dead at the moment – two women, a man and a child,” Tolima Governor Jose Ricardo Orozco told the media as he revealed that a young child was among the victims.

“There are about 30 people seriously injured… that’s a preliminary report,” he added as he noted that rescue crews are still on the scene looking for survivors in the rubble.

Local authorities also confirmed that the section of the stadium that collapsed was full of spectators.

According to the latest reports, it is believed that some seventy people could be injured as a result of the bullring collapse.

“We will request an investigation of the facts about what happened,” Ivan Duque, Colombia’s president, said as he expressed his sympathy with the victims’ families.

Meanwhile, Governor Orozco said he would take action to ban bullfighting festivals, which still attract thousands of people, because of the danger they pose to people and animals.
