BREAKING: At Least One Dead And Five Injured After Gunman Opens Fire At A Church In California


Several people were shot after a gunman opened fire at a church in a California retirement community.

Gunfire broke out at the Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods, Orange County, California, at 1.26 pm local time on Sunday.

According to the authorities, at least one person was killed in the shooting, and an additional five suffered injuries.

“Deputies are responding to reports of a shooting at a church on the 24000 block of El Toro Road in Laguna Woods, Orange County. Multiple victims have been shot. More details to follow,” Orange County Sheriff revealed on Twitter.

The police later added: “Dispatch received call of a shooting inside Geneva Presbyterian Church at 1:26 pm. Four victims have been critically wounded, one with minor injuries. All victims are adults and are enroute to the hospital. One victim is deceased at the scene.”

According to the latest information, the authorities have since already detained one person and recovered a weapon that may have been involved in the shooting.

More details about the shooting and the gunman’s motives remain unclear and are pending further investigation.

It is believed that at least one victim was killed in the shooting while four sustained heavy injuries. One person was left with minor injuries.

The shooting took place in the quiet community of Laguna Woods just a day after ten people were killed by a suspected white supremacist who started shooting at shoppers in a Buffalo supermarket.
