Singer Sam Smith’s fans are raising their voice after the celeb was misgendered several times during a morning show today.

The incident has sparked a major frenzy on social media with many people demanding an explanation of the behavior.

The incident reportedly took place on an episode of the show hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. And that is when Bob Geldof was blasted for misgendering the ‘Unholy’ singer for so long.

The star was speaking about his respective thoughts on the living crisis and even paid tribute to the bandmate of Rats named Gary Roberts.

But then all of a sudden, the topic switched to just a discussion on Sam Smith. Bob Geldof kept on mentioning the singer and used the pronoun he.

It was bizarre and shocking for fans to witness how Bob carried on with the same pronouns. And even if it was a genuine mistake, the hosts should have known better. Instead, they opted to stay silent and didn’t even interrupt once.

But this incident did not go unnoticed by fans of the singer. In case you did not know, Smith mentioned in the year 2019 that they were non-binary. And that meant they would like to be talked about and introduced with the pronouns they/them and not he/she.

The highly controversial incident was blown up into a massive issue online and people couldn’t help but criticize the hosts who played along like they had no idea.

“He’s on national television and speaking about Sam Smith like this. You should be ashamed of yourself and these types of incidents”- mentioned one furious viewer and many couldn’t help but agree.
