Another top Russian official has been killed by Ukrainian forces recently, bringing the death toll of senior figures up to 12.
According to local media reports, the deceased officer has been identified as Captain Alexey Glushchak who was 31 years old and served as a senior GRU intelligence officer.
Moreover, sources confirmed how this is the first time ever that Moscow has confirmed the announcement relating to the high profile casualty as previously, it failed to do so, in an attempt to disguise the great loss of top-ranked officials taking place.
Other sources revealed how two other intelligence officers relating to Russian paratrooper forces had also passed away recently.
But Moscow continues to cover up the great number of casualties taking place among all of its invading forces, revealed reports.
As the savage Russian invasion in Ukraine continues, the country’s port city of Mariupol continues to be bombarded.
While it is still not clear as to how the officer died, officials did reveal personal details about how he hailed from Tyumen in Siberia.
“Due to matters relating to the strict secrecy of the country’s ongoing military operation in Ukraine, the exact circumstances relating to the death of the hero officer will not be disclosed”- mentioned a public statement by the Russian officials recently.
Meanwhile, images of the deceased father of one were shown as his funeral was held in Russia with great military honor and a guard of honor too.
So far, at least 12 major commanders belonging to the country’s military forces have been identified and these include three top generals too.
Sources revealed how the officer had reportedly spoken to his wife, mother, and other loved ones on the day of his death in Russia.
He had called them up to congratulate them on the occasion of International Women’s Day but little did he know that this would be the last time that he would ever be speaking to them.
