Police in London has confirmed the death of a man who was reportedly tasered in the city of London, moments before he fell into the River Thames.
According to reports from local media outlets, the man was caught roaming the streets of London with a screwdriver in his hands and was also believed to be screaming and shouting. Therefore, the local police acted in a swift manner, tasering him, in an effort to control him.
But little did they know that it would end up making him fall into the River Thames, causing him critical injuries.
The suspect was believed to have been rescued and then rushed via paramedics on standby to a local hospital. However, he died on the way, leaving many stunned at the tragic turn of events.
Officers revealed how the incident took place during the early hours of Saturday morning and that’s when they reportedly received horrifying reports from witnesses about the suspect posing as a danger to so many people.
He is believed to have been in his 40s but his identity still remains a mystery with the authorities not revealing his true identity.
“He was rescued from the water and then for medical aid to a nearby local hospital”- mentioned by a spokesperson for the police but he died shortly afterward, they added.
The IOPC directly claims to have spoken to the man’s family in regards to the incident and they have also been made aware of the tragic circumstances surrounding his death. The cops have also taken this moment as one to express their sincere condolences and how they are believed to have been involved.
“We express great sympathy during this time. We know it must be terrible for his loved ones to hear such news”- the police revealed through a public statement.
