BREAKING: Reggae Legend Dies Just Days After Announcing New Tour


Reggae legend Jah Shaka has passed away at the age of 73 just days after announcing his new tour.

The dub and reggae artist, who was also known by the stage name of Zulu Warrior, was born in Jamaica before moving to London, UK, with his parents when he was still a young child.

After starting his career working as a sound operator on the Freddie Cloudburst Sound System, the aspiring musician set up his own sound system and quickly gained popularity in the 1970s thanks to his dynamic, spiritually-infused content consisting of high-energy rhythms and unrivaled sonority.

Since his rise in the music industry, Shaka frequently toured and even began running his own label known as Jah Shaka Music.

Just days prior to his passing, the musician announced a new tour that was supposed to take place this upcoming August.

After the news of the passing, fellow entertainment figures paid the reggae legend their tributes on social media.

“Just getting some sad news that the great Jah Shaka has passed away. The Zulu warrior left us. Very sad indeed. More to come on that. May his soul rest forever in perfect peace,” Jamaican artist Dennis Alcapone expressed.

“The king of Kings has left us. The greatest soundman that ever lived,” DJ Jumpin Jack Frost added.

Another supporter wrote: “Crushed at the news of our hero Jah Shaka’s passing. His uncompromising stance, dedication to inspire the community and legendary sound system dances were the standard everyone measured against. He remained our spiritual guiding light thru all he did.”
