One woman is sharing her story about how embarrassed and humiliated she felt after a lifeguard refused to allow her to breastfeed her child at the edge of a swimming pool.
The woman says the lifeguard got all aggressive in her tone of speech and told her off for trying to feed her child in a public place where so many other people and children were around. But the mother refused to listen because she claims it is her right to feed a hungry and cranky baby.
Within minutes, the entire situation turned into a nasty verbal altercation that took place at the Rhy Leisure Center in North Wales recently.
“He was a young 5-year-old baby that needed milk. He was hungry, I had no choice but to feed my hungry and crying child”- the mother continued to argue.
Sarah Lappin says that there was a point where she felt that she could no longer argue and was told to immediately leave the premises or risk being thrown out by the security. And that’s when she decided that she had enough.
The entire story was recorded by the mother and she’s now raising her voice on the matter which she believes is so wrong on so many levels.
Interestingly, the mother had just conducted a session for parenting and toddlers and this wasn’t the kind of reaction she expected.
“I deserved a little more respect than that”- she continued to mention.
The mother of five revealed how her end goal was to normalize breastfeeding in public because it was every woman’s right. But seeing a lifeguard continuously humiliate her in public by blowing his whistle at her continuously while she fed a hungry and cranky child was just too overwhelming and rude.
