More than $1 million has been raised for a grieving father whose children were allegedly killed by their own mother.
It was on January 24 when Patrick Clancy’s world suddenly turned upside down after he went out to buy some food and came back to find all of his children dead in the basement.
The children’s mother, Lindsay Clancy, is accused of killing Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 7 months by strangling them with exercise bands.
According to reports, Lindsay had been found in the backyard of the home after trying to take her own life by jumping out of the second-floor window.
Patrick said that Lindsay had been ‘smiling’ and ‘happy’ throughout the day, even building a snowman with the kids and sending pictures to their grandmother.
After returning home to find all of his three children in the basement, Patrick called 911 but Dawson and Cora were pronounced dead. Baby Callan passed away days later.
The mother reportedly survived her fall from the window but she is paralyzed from the waist down. She has pleaded not guilty after being charged with two counts of murder, three counts of as**ult and battery with a dangerous weapon, and three counts of strangulation.
A GoFundMe page was later created to help the grieving father pay for funeral expenses for his children as well as legal fees and medical bills.
Since it was set up on January 26, it has raised more than $1 million.
Patrick said that the ‘shock and pain is excruciating and relentless’ and that he can’t sleep. He described his family as ‘the best thing that ever happened to him,’ adding he took ‘so much pride’ in being Callan, Dawson and Cora’s father, as well as Lindsay’s husband.
“They gave me purpose and I never took it for granted. There is now a massive void where that purpose once was,” he expressed.
