Huge pieces of the vessel were taken ashore, including a large panel that appears to be from the sub’s tail end and the Titan’s nose.

As many identifiable parts were recovered, officials said they found what they believed to be human remains.

Experts were left shocked by the discoveries as they suspected the vessel was completely destroyed when it suddenly suffered a ‘catastrophic implosion’ during its travel to the Titanic wreckage.

A coroner said to Daily Mail on Wednesday that she believed the remains of the victims – British billionaire Hamish Harding, father and son Shahzada and Suleman Dawood, French explorer Paul-Henri Nargeolet, and OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush – would never be recovered.

The presumed human remains found were ‘carefully removed within the wreckage’ and will be transported to a port in the US where they will undergo testing and analysis.

In a statement, Marine Board of Investigation Capt. Jason Neubauer said: “I am grateful for the coordinated international and interagency support to recover and preserve this vital evidence at extreme offshore distances and depths.

“The evidence will provide investigators from several international jurisdictions with critical insights into the cause of this tragedy.”

He also mentioned that there is a lot of work to be completed to determine what exactly happened to the Titan submersible.

“They have been working around the clock now for 10 days, through the physical and mental challenges of this operation, and are anxious to finish the mission and return to their loved ones,” the company said.
